We currently have a full time position available for a Business Developer/Project Manager with our BrightView Landscape Development team.  We are seeking a 'hunter' salesperson to drive new business and also handle administrative/project management aspects of the landscape and irrigation construction projects we build. The primary responsibility for this position will be pursuing and managing new projects in Utah, and may involve soliciting new business in markets outside of Salt Lake, therefore some travel will be required.  Additionally, there will be some remote project management responsibilities. This person will partner with our Estimator and Field Operations team to ensure that all projects are managed according to Company guidelines.

What you’ll do:

  • Seek out new opportunities in the market and leverage relationships for new business opportunities with commercial landscape and irrigation construction projects, and close those deals
  • Work with prospective customers to discover their “points of pain” and develop solutions
  • Build and maintain trust-based professional relationships with key decision makers
  • Review take-offs with our estimator and put together final bid packages
  • Manage document control including change orders, billings, field production tracking, purchasing documentation and contract administration
  • Prepare reports and information as requested
  • Work closely with clients, vendors, sub-contractors and employees ensuring exceptional customer service and quality at all times
  • Work at a fast paced environment while operating with a high sense of urgency
  • Communicate proactively with all decision makers and influencers
  • Plan daily, hit specific activity benchmarks and close business
  • Work well with the operations team members, leveraging their expertise with yours

Skills we're seeking:

  • Proficient with computer software programs including MS Office suite Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in construction or landscape industry
  • Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management highly preferred
  • Strong work ethic and a seller/doer attitude
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Customer service experience
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
  • Extensive face-to-face (B2B) selling experience at the mid to senior levels
  • Experience managing multiple projects and able to multi-task in a large territory
  • Experience with a CRM or SFA tool beneficial
  • PROVEN track record of sales goal attainment in a longer selling cycle environment
  • Highly competitive, positive, and results driven sales person
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to build client-centric and solution/value-based proposals
  • Working experience with social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter)
  • Coach-able, trainable, and have a good sense of humor
  • Local knowledge and contacts in the market preferred
  • Some travel will be required for this position
